Week of February 6

Class A- Miss Kachinko – 
            Miss Sebolka

This week in Language Arts we will introduce the letter Qq. We will also discuss what it means to be respectful. Our Science experiment will be to bend a pencil. The new words of the month are: mask, drums, money, suitcase. We will read the story, “My Granny Went to the Market.” The class will also work on counting and recognizing numbers. Art Projects include a camera, heart vase, a mask, and a paper Lantern.
• Friday is Show-N-Tell!
• The class Valentine’s Day party will 
   be on Tuesday, February 14th.


Class B- Mrs. Healey
This week will be a review week. Our Letter People friends will help us review the letters Yy, Gg, Tt, and Ss. We will practice our cutting and tracing skills. Our Science lessons will discuss health and good habits. In Math, we will count with the numbers 1 and 2. In Music, we will learn the song “Skinny Marinky Dinky Dink.” Art projects this week will be associated with our review letters.
 Friday is Show and Tell.


Class C- Mrs. Sypulski – 
           Mrs. Polerecki
This week’s Land of the Letter People theme is “Flowers are Beautiful.”
Language Arts – We will meet Mr. R with his Rainbow Ribbons. We will learn the name, shape, and sound of the letter Rr.
Social/Personal Development – The class will continue to learn about the importance of taking care of our teeth and the role of the dentist.
Math – We will write and count numbers 0 through 20.
Science – Discuss the parts of our teeth. Demonstrate how to remove stains from teeth.
Music – “The Rainbow Song”
Art – rainbows and teeth.


Class D – Miss Haller - 
            Miss Popowitch
Language Arts: The students are beginning Chapter 6 of A Pig Can Jig. Vocabulary words are: cap, lap, map, nap, rap, tap.

Math:  Students will be using pattern blocks to learn Math vocabulary. We will also learn basic fractions.

Science: We will continue to explore our solar system.

Social Studies: We will continue to learn about influential African Americans throughout history.

Thinking Skills: Students will begin Chapter 24 of “Willie the Wisher.”

Music: The musical contributions of African Americans.

Art:  We will learn about symmetry and creating butterflies.
