Week of September 6
Class A- Mrs. Rau- Miss Kachinko
Miss Lloyd
This week in Language Arts we will introduce the Letter A. We will meet April the Astronaut puppet. In Math we will introduce the number 1. We will use Apple Jacks to count. In Social Studies we will discuss our families. In Science we will experiment with our sense of taste. We will have a special “Ants on a Log” snack. Our new song this week is “The Wheels on the Bus.” Friday is Show and Tell… Please bring in one toy to share with the class.
Art projects this week include: Apple Jack Letter A, School Bus, Adorable Astronauts, and Hungry Worm.
Class B- Mrs. Sypulski- Mrs.Kocher
This week the class will learn the name, shape, and sound of the letter N with Mr. N and his noisy nose in Language Arts. In Math the circle shape will be introduced. For our Social Development lesson when to use our indoor and outdoor voices will be discussed. We will use Mr. N’s noodles to practice sorting in Science. Basic health hygiene habits are explored in Health.
Arts projects include: Mr. N puppets, circle collages, and noisy noisemakers.
Class C-Miss Dickerson-

This week in Language Arts the Land of the Letter People theme is “I Am Special.” Follow up activities include meeting and greeting Mr. M and his Munching Mouth, listening to his song, sharing the book “How Much Lunch?” and discussing “What is safe to munch?” Our Math lesson will introduce the colors red, blue, orange, and brown. We will introduce the shapes circle, square, triangle, and star. In Science, we will discuss Self Esteem and make badges to celebrate Me! Art projects include: Coloring sheets and cutting squares.
Friday is Show-N-Tell with any “M” item. Please remember a toy that your child can play with.
Class D- Miss Puzio - Miss Haskell
Language Arts- We will go over the morning routine and then begin with the letter Aa. We will practice writing and listening to the long and short sound the letter makes.
Math- We will begin with left/right and under/over. We will make signs to help with left and right.
Thinking Skills- Willy Wisher #1
Science- We will be learning about me by tracing our body. Please bring in three items to help the class learn more about you.
Art-We will be making Apple People to go with the Letter Aa.
Reminders:
Little People will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2010 in observance of Labor Day.
